LCHS Research Support Services

Research support servicesOur Trust aims to provide a high quality research support service to enable the people of Lincolnshire with an opportunity not only to participate in research but to also have a say in research design and delivery.  LCHS currently supports research in many areas, such as diabetes, stroke and respiratory disease. We assist Lincolnshire Primary Care Clinicians to recruit patients into National multi-centre clinical trials; many of which are on the National Institute Health Research portfolio and funded by one of the Department of Health partners. We are supported by the Comprehensive Research Network: East Midlands which is part of the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) and funded by the Department of Health.

LCHS has a strong commitment to support the NHS R&D agenda. We are committed to taking part in all types of research and have a very good recruitment track record.

Within our team we have a massive range of knowledge and skills which are utilised on a daily basis within the Research and Innovation Team. Our Clinical Research Network team members offer their support to clinicians to recruit patients into the portfolio adopted studies.

NIHR Clinical Research Network Portfolio

The NIHR Clinical Research Network Coordinating Centre (CRNCC) is building a complete picture of the clinical research which is currently taking place across the UK.

Details of studies which meet specific eligibility criteria are recorded in a database known as the CRN (Clinical Research Portfolio), which comprises of the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Portfolio in England, and the corresponding portfolios of Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales. The UKCRN Clinical Research Portfolio is a national data resource and will be used to manage the allocation of NHS infrastructure funding and will support the performance management of UKCRN's Clinical Research Networks.
