Readers Panel

Lincolnshire Community Health Services (LCHS) produces a wide range of resources aimed at giving patients the information they need to complement their care. We are committed to ensuring it is easy to understand, useful and accessible to all sections of the community.

To help us achieve this we are looking for people to join our Readers’ Panel.

Your role: As a member of the LCHS Readers’ Panel you will be sent information such as leaflets and policies to read and comment on and would be asked to think about:

  • how information is worded;
  • how it is presented;
  • whether it answers the questions you would have.

You will then be given a week to consider the document and return your comments to us. Information can be sent via post or email - whichever you prefer. The LCHS Readers’ Panel requires no previous knowledge or expertise, just your honest feedback. We will ask that all members who join the panel sign a confidentiality form.

How to take part: If you are interested in becoming a member of the LCHS Readers’ Panel please email or call 01522 308857.

15 Steps Challenge

To help us understand the first impressions patients have of the care they receive from our teams, our organisation regularly undertakes the 15 Steps Challenge across all our community services. The 15 Steps Challenge has been designed to help LCHS think more carefully about quality of care from a patient’s point of view and we are looking for volunteers to help us in this process.

Your role: As a 15 Steps Volunteer you will be part of a small team visiting a service, considering the environment, talking to the patients and staff and assessing whether you would be happy to receive the care provided.

Due to the nature of this role, volunteers would be expected to undertake a full induction and training session and also complete a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. All volunteers will be reimbursed for any out of pocket expenses incurred.

How to take part: If you are interested in becoming a 15 steps Volunteer please email or call 01522 308857

Patient Led Assessments of the Care Environment (PLACE)

Good environments matter. Every NHS patient should be cared for with compassion and dignity in a clean, safe environment. PLACE visits are an opportunity to get involved and help us improve our hospital care environment in Gainsborough, Louth, Skegness and Spalding.

Your role: By taking part in PLACE visits you will be instrumental in ensuring our hospitals offer a clean, safe environment where we can treat our patients with care, compassion and dignity.

You will receive full training in how to fulfil this role and be required to undertake a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Although you will be offering your time on a voluntary basis you will be reimbursed for any expenses that you incur.

How to take part: For more information please contact the estates and facilities management team by emailing or by calling 01522 308972.

LCHS Charitable Funds

Are you interested in supporting a local service that has made a difference to you or your family and friends? If so, we want to hear from you. We are looking for people to who can support fundraising activities for our Charitable Funds.

LCHS Charitable Funds is an independent and dedicated charity that plays a vital role in supporting us to make a difference to service user care. The charity supports innovative projects to enhance services and facilities that would not be funded by the NHS. Some of our recent fundraising activities have included a walk up Ben Nevis, a head shave and a hospital ball. No idea for fundraising is too big or too small – we would love to discuss your ideas with you.

If you would like more information on how to get involved, visit, call 01522 308686 or email
