Minor Injuries Units

If you have had an injury in the Gainsborough or Spalding area, and it is not an emergency, then why not use our minor injuries unit. You will be seen and treated sooner and it leaves A&E for more serious cases.

Minor injuries units are for less serious injuries, such as sprains, cuts and grazes, broken bones, bites and stings.  They are a modern and fast way to deliver high quality care to patients with minor injury and illness.

You can self-refer to the minor injuries units and referrals are also accepted from the ambulance service and out of hours service.

The units are for those who do not need the full facilities of an urgent care centre or emergency department.

You don't need an appointment to visit a minor injuries unit.

It is important to note that minor injuries units will not treat the following conditions:

  • Unconscious patients
  • Serious medical conditions
  • Major injuries
  • Overdoses
  • Alcohol related problems
  • Mental health problems

For any of the above cases you should dial 999.
