P_CoG_18 Social Media Policy
Social Media is a serious method of digital marketing and communication; it is direct, personal, instant and responsive and provides us with an excellent method with which to gain feedback from the people of Lincolnshire.
Increasingly social media is used to:
- Ask for people's comments and feedback
- Gauge people's enthusiasm or concerns
- Create a dialogue
- Engage a niche audience with specific interest groups
Social media refers to the use of web-based technology to allow users to share video, audio, text or images. Much of the content is user-generated (UGC) and feedback is positively encouraged.
The organisation has profiles on most of the main social media websites; however, the ones we use most frequently are: Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Flickr and Blogger. RSS feeds are also used to notify of latest news releases.
