P_HR_53 Temporary Staffing Policy
The purpose of this policy is to implement a co-ordinated and uniform approach to all elements of bank working and zero hours agreements within Lincolnshire Community Health Services NHS Trust. It will provide guidance and act as a single point of reference for the organisation, clarifying procedures and setting standards.
This policy is intended to provide an overview for bank worker processes and procedures included within the remit of the Temporary Staffing Bank Service(TSBS) which is a section of the HR Policy and Recruitment Department, LCHS.
It is the intention of the organisation to treat all temporary staff on the bank no less favourably than any other member of staff. All pay, terms and conditions of service will be in line with those currently in force nationally or as determined locally, where these are more favourable.
For the purpose of interpreting this policy and any associated documentation, the term "Temporary Staffing" will include all bank workers, clinical and non-clinical, who are appointed to work in any capacity anywhere within, or on behalf of, Lincolnshire Community Health Services NHS Trust (LCHS). Both Bank and Agency Workers are coordinated through the HR Policy and Recruitment Department via the Temporary Staffing and Bank Service (TSBS). The core element of this policy is to cover the processes for using bank workers. Appendix 1 contains a list of abbreviations used within the policy.
