Volunteer Information Session at Skegness Hospital

Skegness Hospital is currently looking for volunteers for its outpatients department and two hospital wards.

Volunteers play a vital role in supporting patients, staff and visitors. From reading letters or newspapers, delivering drinks or sitting with patients while they attend for appointments, it's the small but important things which can make a difference to patient care.

Anyone interested in regularly dedicating a small amount of time to helping others is invited to call in to an information session to find out more about volunteering.

The session, which will be held on Thursday, February 27, at the Medical Rehabilitation Unit at the hospital, will give interested members of the public opportunity to find out more about the role, how to apply and to ask any questions.

Doors will open for welcome and registration at 1.30pm, with a presentation starting at 2pm.

Vicky Wilson, Outpatients Sister for Lincolnshire Community Health Services NHS Trust, said: "Volunteers are highly valued and can make a huge difference to the quality of life of our patients. We hope volunteering at Skegness Hospital will prove to be a rewarding experience, and we look forward to meeting those interested at the information session on February 27."

If you are unable to attend the information session, please contact Vicky Wilson or Ward Manager Jo Wilkinson on 01754 762401.
