Beach ball fun for Johnson Community Hospital
Posted on: 14th July 2016
On Saturday night guests were treated to some seaside fun at the 8th annual Johnson Community Hospital ball.
Attended by 500 guests, this year’s ‘A Beach Ball’ event was held to once again raise money to directly support patients, visitors and staff at the hospital. Proceeds are to be divided between the hospital’s League of Friends and Lincolnshire Community Health Services NHS Trust (LCHS) Charitable Funds.
The event at Springfields Events and Conference Centre, Spalding, saw guests dance the night away to eighties tribute band The Wild Boys and Leo’s Promotions Disco. No detail was spared and the room was filled with beach balls, sandcastles and fun fair games, such as ‘Hook-a-duck’ and Sharks and Mermaids. There was also a chance to participate in a grand prize draw and silent auction.
As a result of a lot of hard work and determination, an incredible £xxx was raised.
Sister at Johnson Community Hospital, and ball organiser, Sally Brown said: “It was a fantastic evening with tickets completely sold out. The beach theme was a roaring success and it was amazing to see so many people come out to support the hospital. It was definitely the best ball yet.”
Sponsors on the night were EMG Motors of Spalding and Moore Thompson accountants, along with a host of other companies who generously donated prizes.
This was the ball’s eighth year to date with over £26,000 being raised in total, all of which has gone back to support those who use and work at Johnson Community Hospital.
Plans for next year’s event are already taking shape, with the ball scheduled for Saturday July 8th 2017.
