Bingo Night Raises Funds For Butterfly Hospice

A donation of more than £1,000 has been handed over to nursing staff from Lincolnshire Community Health Services NHS Trust (LCHS) for the patients in the Butterfly Hospice, Boston.
Susan Phillips and Diane Killick visited the Butterfly Hospice with a cheque for £1,005. A charity bingo night held at The Eaves in Little Steeping raised £502.50 an amount that Susan's husbands employer S.P.E Group generously agreed to match.
The daughters were delighted with the facilities and care their mother received and Diane has now joined the volunteer workforce helping to support families and patients along with nursing staff in providing high quality patient care.
The Butterfly Hospice inpatient unit is run in partnership by LCHS and the Butterfly Hospice Trust. The Hospice relies on generous donations and pledges of support to remain able to provide this much-needed service.
Laura Slayven, Butterfly Hospice Fundraising Manager, said: "We are so grateful to Diane, Susan and S.P.E for their support of the Hospice. We work very hard to explore all options to raise funds to keep providing this high level of caring service for our patients.
"Although we received some funding from the NHS, the majority of our funds come from the generous support of the people in our community. Without their continued support and fundraising we are not able to provide our care free of cost to patients and their families."
The funds raised will go towards the purchase of some smaller recliner chairs enhancing patient comfort and helping families who stay with their loved ones overnight.
