Cardiac Rehab Staff Gear Up For Charity Cycle Event

Posted on: 27th January 2016

Staff from the Bourne Cardiac Rehabilitation team will be putting on their trainers to cycle in a five hour charity event.

The Bourne Cardiac Rehabilitation Team runs a programme which supports patients who have suffered a recent heart problem. Patients embark on an exercise programme with heart healthy educational talks incorporating the benefits of exercise, healthy eating, stress management, emergency life support, the causes of heart disease and heart support group information.

From 9am until 2pm on Saturday, February 6 members of the team will take turns to cycle on an exercise bike in the Tesco Superstore, Cherry Holt Road Bourne to raise as much money as possible for charity.

Paula Groves Cardiac Rehab Assistant for Lincolnshire Community Health Services said: "We really need the public's support for this event. Any donation big or small and words of encouragement will be greatly appreciated!

"We will be peddling our way to victory for five hours in our own time. The proceeds from whatever we raise will be split between the British Heart Foundation and to purchase health education equipment for our service users.

"We are very thankful to the kind staff at Tesco for allowing us this fundraising opportunity and we hope to see a lot of friendly faces on Saturday, February 6."
