Cardiac Rehabilitation Sessions Move to New Home

Specialist community-based cardiac rehabilitation classes designed to support patients to return to living everyday life in south Lincolnshire have moved to a new home.
The weekly sessions, led by specialist nurses and therapists, have moved from Stamford Hospital into The Centre at Elsea Park in Bourne.
The service, which is part of Lincolnshire Community Health Services NHS Trust (LCHS), provides a comprehensive programme of exercise and education for adults on a range of topics after a heart attack, heart surgery or procedure.
The sessions support patients from across south Lincolnshire, including Bourne, Stamford, Sleaford and Grantham.
Laura Taylor, Cardiac Rehabilitation Exercise Instructor for LCHS, said: "Patients recovering from a heart condition can often feel daunted at the idea of returning to their daily routines. Our sessions combine exercise and education to give the support, knowledge and confidence they need to aid and manage their recovery. Our new home at The Centre offers a more central location for patients travelling from across south Lincolnshire."
Bill Robertson, from Market Deeping, joined the rehabilitation sessions as a patient following a heart attack and now volunteers. He explained: "For me, the sessions were as much about regaining my confidence as the physical exercise. The other good thing was meeting other people of all ages, from a 32-year-old marathon runner to a 92-year-old blind man. There's a nice sense of community about it. We have a lot of fun here."
