New exercise equipment to help patients recovering from heart attacks or surgery will soon be on its way to Burgh le Marsh following a £2,000 donation to a local cardiac rehabiliation team.

The Cardiac Rehabilitation Service from Lincolnshire Community Health Services NHS Trust was the nominated charity for Skegness Liberal Club from 2016/17.

Generous members, following a year of fundraising, presented the £2,000 cheque to Alison Bunn, Martine Scott and Jenny Spence from the service at a special charity night.

The team covers the Louth and Skegness areas of Lincolnshire and provides exercise and education programmes to support those who have experienced heart attacks, surgery or other cardiac procedures to return to an active life.

Alison Bunn, cardiac rehabilitation nurse specialist, said the service felt privileged to have been chosen by Liberal Club members: "This is a fantastic donation which will make a huge difference in enhancing the recovery of our cardiac patients who access the service. It is wonderful that such a large amount of money has been raised through the commitment of the club and its members. Thank you to all of them."
