Charity football match to raise awareness of men’s mental health

Lincolnshire Community Health Services NHS Trust (LCHS) FC and Bordervillarreal FC are going head-to-head in a charity football match, raising money for two fantastic charities.
The players contribute a small fee for each game which will cover any costs associated with the match. The rest of the money will be split between Lincolnshire NHS Charity and MANUP.
Kick-off is on Friday, 1 July at 7:45 at the Borderville Sports Centre, Ryhall Road, Stamford, PE9 1US. The football match is free for everyone to attend but donations are greatly appreciated.
Kubi Addison, LCHS FC player manager and Business Development and Planning Manager at LCHS said: “We are really excited to be playing against Bordervillarreal FC and are really proud to be raising awareness for MANUP, a men’s mental health charity that breaks stigma by encouraging openness.
“What charities like MANUP promote and strive for means a lot to some of the players in this game and for me personally. I am thankful to be part of a great team and look forward to continuing to raise money which can be used to support the health and wellbeing of our NHS staff.”
Dan Dring, Bordervillarreal FC club captain and Deputy Director of Innovation at LCHS, said: “Our team established a year ago from a small group people who simply, just wanted to kick a ball around. We now have around 30 people, with many of them not knowing more than one or two others in the group this time last year.
“Our group promotes openness and diversity and we appreciate that we all have pressures that we are dealing with. Whilst football gives us a physical outlet, it comes as no surprise that the group has provided a support network to share what's on our minds, get people talking and more importantly to listen.
“We are hosting this football match to raise money for two remarkable charities very close to me personally and raising the awareness of the amazing things they do. So, if you can, please do support us.”
