Covid-19 vaccinations, including walk-ins, now available at community-based outreach sessions
Posted on: 31st May 2024
There are now more opportunities for eligible people to get a Covid-19 vaccination this spring, thanks to the rollout of a series of outreach vaccination sessions being held around the county between now and the end of June.
In addition to offering bookable appointments for those who would prefer the certainty of knowing they will be able to get vaccinated at a time to suit them, these outreach sessions also now offer eligible people the choice to turn up and get vaccinated as a walk-in without the need to make an appointment.
“This latest Covid-19 vaccination campaign continues to go well, with just over 50 percent (50.4%) of eligible people having had their latest vaccination (as of 30th May) and the rollout of outreach sessions in community settings around the county gives people an extra route to get vaccinated,” explains Karen Hewinson, Head of Clinical Services, Lincolnshire Community Health Services NHS Trust.
People who would like to take advantage of being able to get vaccinated at an outreach session can check the list of locations available here, this webpage is regularly updated and includes details as to how to book an appointment by calling 01522 301940, Monday to Friday between 10am and 4pm.
“Alternatively, if you are not able to make an appointment and would prefer to take advantage of the flexibility of a walk-in vaccination, check our website link (above) for details of the outreach session that suits you and feel free to turn up without an appointment, but please be mindful that walk-in vaccinations are given on a ‘first come, first served’ basis,” adds Karen.
As an alternative to the outreach sessions, it is still possible to book a Covid-19 vaccination at a local community pharmacy by using the National Booking System www.nhs.uk/get-vaccine or by calling 119. New appointment slots are being released regularly, so please check back if there are none available when you initially look.
Alongside community pharmacies, most GP practices are again involved in the Covid-19 spring vaccination campaign and will invite registered patients to make an appointment to have their vaccination, although, provided you are eligible, you do not have to wait to be invited, you can book online using the National Booking System or by calling 119.
A small number of GP practices listed below are not taking part in the Covid-19 vaccination campaign and their patients can either book online using the National Booking System, they can call 119, or they can make an appointment to attend a vaccination clinic that will be held at the Weighing Rooms, Lincoln, between 2.30pm-4.30pm on 10th June, by calling 01522 301940:
