Full Speed Ahead For Scotter Ward Summer Charity Ball
Posted on: 24th June 2016
The tickets are sold, the outfits have been picked out and the final touches are being made for the first ever Scotter Ward summer charity ball.
Lucky ticket holders will enjoy a three course meal, raffle and live entertainment on the evening of Saturday, June 25 at Gainsborough Golf Club, all while raising funds for the palliative care suite on Scotter Ward at John Coupland Hospital, Gainsborough.
Sharon Smallman, staff nurse at Scotter Ward said: "We really want to improve the palliative care suite for both patients and their families. Currently the suite is dark, dated and lacks any personal touches. Patients who stay are very ill and many will sadly pass away in the suite. We want to create a more homely experience for these patients to make them more comfortable and provide a warm and friendly atmosphere.
Healthcare Support Worker Jackie Capetta added: "We are really passionate about providing great care for our patients but feel the suite does not reflect our work. We have worked really hard to raise funds so far but we hope the ball will really boost the total.
"The Scotter Ward Summer Charity Ball will be a fantastic night and we look forward to welcoming all of the guests."
The event is sold out with 170 guests expected on the night, it is expected the event will take the fundraising efforts over a third of the way to the target of £60,000.
