Posted on: 23rd May 2016
A Gainsborough Clinical Nurse Educator has been selected to be an Ambassador for the Academy of Fabulous NHS Stuff.
The Academy was launched on Valentine's Day 2015 and has since had more than half a million page views of its pages showcasing what NHS staff are doing at the front line, in the board rooms, the community and primary care.
Donna Phillips Clinical Educator on Scotter Ward at John Coupland Hospital, for Lincolnshire Community Health Services NHS Trust is thrilled to have been given this unique opportunity.
"I've been a supporter of the Academy of Fabulous NHS Stuff for several months now," said Donna.
"We have submitted seven shares of the great work that we do here on Scotter Ward. I've found the networking opportunities through the Academy and Twitter really beneficial and we are sharing and learning so many great ideas. I'm really looking forward to being an Ambassador and hopefully learning a lot more!"
Perks of being an Ambassador include:
- Attending Ambassador's Summits with workshops and networking opportunities
- Health Chat events at the King's Fund in London
- A leading role at the Academy Awards at London's 02 in November
- Membership of the Innovation Club
- Free attendance at an Academy Summer School in the future.
Roy Lilley, Independent health policy analyst, writer, broadcaster and one of the founders of the Academy of Fabulous NHS Stuff said: "The Academy is all about what is happening and working on the ground. Ambassadors are the ears and eyes of the thousands of people who search our indexes, every day looking for fabulous stuff to share. Ambassadors are our partners in showing people what good looks like and helping them to do it better!"
Dr Terri Porrett of the Academy of Fabulous NHS Stuff added: "Donna and her fabulous team have been key supporters of the Academy and have shared multiple great service ideas. We are thrilled that Donna will be working with us as an Ambassador and have no doubt her enthusiasm and energy to deliver good stuff will empower and engage others to step up and share their fab stuff."
Donna will attend the very first Ambassador's Summit on Thursday, June 2 in Birmingham.
