Garden to open in aid of local NHS charity

A beautiful garden usually hidden from public view by high Georgian facades in Louth is being opened up for a day in aid of a local NHS charity.

Approximately 1.5 acres of garden on 48 Westgate (LN11 9YD), which also showcase the river Lud, will be open from 11am until 4pm on Saturday, July 8, to raise money for the Cardiac Rehabilitation Service.

The service, run by Lincolnshire Community Health Services NHS Trust (LCHS), supports cardiac patients to return back to a healthy lifestyle through individually tailored education and exercise programmes following a heart attack or surgery.

Money raised through the trust's independent Charitable Funds will support improvements to the service for both patients and staff, including buying new equipment and resources which would not normally be funded by the NHS.

Alison Bunn, cardiac rehabilitation nurse specialist, said: "We are very grateful to Kenneth Harvey for giving us the opportunity to host an event in his beautiful garden. Visitors will be able to enjoy a cup of tea and a slice of cake while taking a look at one of Louth's hidden gems.

"We have a fantastic range of raffle prizes, which have been generously donated by local businesses and individuals, a plant stall and the opportunity to have your blood pressure checked by a member of our team. Volunteers from the local Heart Support Group will also be here to meet visitors.

"Every penny raised on the day will go towards helping local people who have experienced a cardiac event."

Admission costs £3.50 for adults and accompanied children (under 16) can go in free.
