Gary Cooke is an ex-cardiac rehabilitation patient from Bourne and has kindly donated £360 to Lincolnshire NHS Charity.
Gary raised this money by organising a local fundraising event, supported by the Spalding and District Snooker League at Bourne Pyramid Snooker Club.
All the money donated will go to Lincolnshire NHS Charity, which is an independent charity that supports innovative projects to enhance services and facilities that would not be funded by the NHS.
Lincolnshire Community Health Services NHS Trust (LCHS) runs the Cardiac Rehabilitation Service in Lincolnshire, which brings together a wide range of advice and support including, medical treatment, education, counselling, psychological support, exercise advice and healthy eating.
The Cardiac Rehabilitation Team have used the money to purchase a new trampette and some weights that will be used for cardiac rehabilitation patients at the exercise programme in Bourne.
Gary Cooke said: “Thank you to the Cardiac Rehabilitation Team who have helped me back on my feet. It makes me so happy that I have been able to give something back and it means that other patients will benefit from this.
“I would also like to say a special thanks to the Bourne Pyramid Club for letting me use their venue and to the Spalding and District Snooker League for their support on the day.”
Paula Groves, LCHS Assistant Practitioner said: “Thank you so much to Gary for this donation and everyone who supported the fundraising event. The items we have purchased from Gary’s donation will be a great asset and they have already been very popular with our patients!”
