Posted on: 15th May 2014
Let us see your biggest grin and come and join in the National Smile Month celebrations in Lincolnshire from May 19.
The Oral Health Team, part of the Special Care Dental Service at Lincolnshire Community Health Services NHS Trust (LCHS), will be hitting the road over the next month to give us all the advice and help we need to keep a healthy smile.
Visit the team on:
- May 21, 10am-2pm - Gainsborough Health Shop, Market Place, Gainsborough
- May 27, 10am-2pm - Skegness Health Shop, Lumley Road, Skegness
- June 11, 10am-2pm - Asda, Boston
- June 14, 10am-2pm - Lincoln Health Shop, The Cornhill, Lincoln
A special photo booth will be open at the Lincoln event from 11am-2pm where visitors can show their support for National Smile Month with a special smiley selfie.
The trust is also offering a toothbrush amnesty at all events while stocks last, where visitors can bring their old toothbrush and swap it for a new one.
Gina Hargrave, Oral Health Promoter at LCHS, said: "National Smile Month is a fun way of promoting good oral care. This year we would like everyone to remember three simple steps; to brush your teeth for two minutes twice a day, cut down on how often you have sugary foods or drinks and to visit your dentist regularly or as often as they recommend. It sounds so simple but many of us still don't do these basic things.
"Remember, National Smile Month is for everyone, so come along to one of our events and join in the 'Smiley' challenge."
Chief Executive of the British Dental Health Foundation, Dr Nigel Carter OBE, said: “I’m delighted that Lincolnshire Community Health Services has joined the thousands of organisations in engaging with National Smile Month. It is a great reflection of local community spirit and an excellent way to promote good oral health."
