Just over a week to go to get your Covid-19 vaccination

Posted on: 21st June 2024

With just over one week to go until the end of the current Covid-19 vaccination campaign, 61% of eligible people in Lincolnshire have had their vaccination.

With the current campaign ending on 30th June, the NHS in Lincolnshire is urging anyone who’s eligible and would like to have a Covid-19 vaccination to come forwards now.

“As has generally been the case in Lincolnshire, we’re ahead of most areas in terms of uptake (the national uptake is 54.5%), thanks to the willingness of people locally to have their vaccination and top up their protection against Covid-19,” comments Julie Humphreys, Head of Clinical Services, Lincolnshire Community Health Services NHS Trust.

“However, we’re still keen to seen anyone who is eligible and as yet unvaccinated, in between now and the end of June, and we still have capacity around the county to ensure you have your Covid-19 vaccination if you want it.”

There are a number of ways you can get your Covid-19 vaccination in the next week or so, including the ability to book an appointment or turn up as a walk-in.

“If you’d like the certainty of an appointment you can book one online at a local community pharmacy using the National Booking System or you can call 119, both will signpost you to your closest community pharmacy and enable you to book a slot to suit you,” explains Julie.

“Alternatively, you can attend one of the remaining outreach vaccination sessions we’re running in the community – next week there are vaccination teams in Stamford on Monday 24th June and in Skegness on Tuesday 25th June, and you can find more details, including locations, on the Lincolnshire ICB website.

Both of the outreach sessions above offer the flexibility to either turn up as a walk-in on a ‘first come, first served basis’ without the need for an appointment, or you can book an appointment by calling 01522 301940 – this number is available Monday to Friday between 10am and 4pm.

“We are also going to be offering walk-in vaccinations at the Weighing Rooms, Lincoln, for anyone eligible, including people aged five and over who are immunosuppressed and, of course, adults aged 75 years and over, on Tuesday 25th, Wednesday 26th, Thursday 27th and Friday 28th June, between 10am-12pm,” adds Julie.

If you can’t immediately get an appointment at a time to suit you using the National Booking System or 119, please try again as slots are regularly being added.
