On Friday, 6 September, Adam Brimelow, Director of Communications at NHS Providers spent the day in Lincoln to find out about our local community health services.
NHS Providers is the membership organisation and trade association for the NHS hospital, mental health, community and ambulance services that treat patients and service users in the NHS.
NHS Providers helps NHS trusts to deliver high-quality, patient-focused care by enabling them to learn from each other, acting as their public voice and helping shape the system in which they operate.
Adam Brimelow met the Chief Executive of Lincolnshire Community Health Services NHS Trust (LCHS) Maz Fosh, visited the busy operations centre and held a question and answer session with staff from across Lincolnshire.
Chief Executive Maz Fosh said: “It was a pleasure to host Adam’s visit and for him to hear about the services we provide for the community, giving great care close to home.
“We are really proud of our dedicated and committed staff and it was great for Adam to meet a few staff to see their enthusiasm for himself.”
Adam held a session for staff to give information on national developments including the NHS long term plan implementation and an NHS Providers update.
The event was held to illustrate the benefits of working for LCHS, including demonstrations of our commitment to staff health and wellbeing, self-care, investing in our people and how we use technology to work more efficiently.
Adam Brimelow, Director of Communications at NHS Providers said: “It’s been fantastic to see the way staff have been encouraged to believe in their own ideas and abilities and the way that has led to real benefits for patients.”
The visit concluded with a walk around LCHS’ Urgent Care Streaming Service. The service project team were regional winners in the 2019 NHS Parliamentary Awards. The Urgent Care Streaming Service allows patients requiring urgent care to be assessed and advised on the most appropriate care for that patient, thus reducing the number of people needing to attend A&E and helping to decrease waiting times for those patients that do need to be seen at A&E.
