With two weeks to go, eligible people urged to get Covid-19 vaccination

Posted on: 14th June 2024

The Covid-19 spring vaccination campaign will end on 30th June and the NHS in Lincolnshire is encouraging anyone eligible who wants to get vaccinated, but has not yet done so, to ensure they act in the next two weeks.

Of all the people eligible in Lincolnshire for a Covid-19 vaccination this spring, 58% have had the vaccine so far.  To put it another way, more than 68,000 Covid-19 vaccinations have been given by GP practices and community pharmacies across the county, as well as by the NHS central vaccination team.

“To put this into context, nationally the uptake is 52.5% so we’re ahead of most areas, which is really encouraging,” comments Steve Clapton, Lincolnshire Covid Programme Lead, NHS Lincolnshire Integrated Care Board.

With two weeks left there are different options available for people to get a Covid-19 vaccination, including the ability to book an appointment or turn up as a walk-in.

“If you’d like the certainty of an appointment you can book one online at a local community pharmacy using the National Booking System or you can call 119, both will signpost you to your closest community pharmacy and enable you to book a slot to suit you,” explains Steve.

“Alternatively, you can attend one of the remaining outreach vaccination sessions we’re running in the community, which offer the flexibility to either turn up as a walk-in on a ‘first come, first served basis’ without the need for an appointment, or you can book an appointment by calling 01522 301940 – this number is available Monday to Friday between 10am and 4pm.”

You can view a list and a map of the local community pharmacies on the Lincolnshire Integrated Care Board (ICB) website.  You can find details on the community outreach vaccination sessions, including locations, on the Lincolnshire ICB website.  If you can’t immediately get an appointment at a time to suit you using the National Booking System or 119, please try again as slots are regularly being added.

Alongside community pharmacies, most GP practices are again involved in the Covid-19 vaccination campaign and will invite registered patients to make an appointment to have their vaccination, although, provided you are eligible, you do not have to wait to be invited, you can book online using the National Booking System or by calling 119.

A small number of GP practices listed below are not taking part in the Covid-19 vaccination campaign and their patients can book an appointment online using the National Booking System or by calling 119.  They are also welcome to attend one of the outreach vaccination sessions:

  • Washingborough Family Practice
