Watch Out For Unexpected Christmas Presents This Festive Season

Posted on: 14th December 2015

It's that time of year when we throw on our festive jumper and let our hair down for the annual Christmas Party. But inbetween singing along to Mariah and sipping mulled wine the Sexual Health Service are asking you to make sure you are being safe underneath the mistletoe this festive period.

The festive season means lots of opportunities for celebrating but it is important to take care of your personal safety and sexual health.

Lincolnshire Community Health Services NHS Trust (LCHS) Sexual Health Service holds countywide clinics offering a range of appointments, including FLY-BYE.

Helen Oliver, Sexual Health Clinical Nurse Specialist for LCHS said: "We understand that people will go out and party over Christmas, by all means have fun and let loose but we are asking you to be prepared and not put yourself at unnecessary risk.

"Our FLY-BYE clinics offer people peace of mind by getting a sexual health 'check-up' if you are worried or concerned. As long as you are sixteen or over and don't have symptoms, it is a great way of reassuring people pre and post-party season. Appointments only last around fifteen minutes and are completely confidential.

"If you have been parting over Christmas and taken risks - don't panic. Call our central booking line as soon as you can to talk it over with someone so that any tests and/or treatment can be carried out at the optimum time."

To book an appointment, including FLY-BYE call the central booking line on 01522 539145    lines are open 8.30am-6.30pm Monday to Thursday and 8.30am-4.30pm on Friday's.
