In April 2021 the team at Skegness Hospital Scarbrough Ward began their fundraising mission to raise enough money to purchase a Labrador puppy.

They undertook a 24-hour bike-a-thon, a skydive, hosted raffles, and obtained sponsorship from local businesses raising over £3,500 to date.

In summer 2021 a very energetic puppy joined the team and began training to become a fully qualified therapy dog. The puppy has been named Rammie after Dr Ram who works at Scarbrough Ward.

NHS Big Tea 2021

On the 5th July 2021 our staff, patients, and the public celebrated the Drinks packages with thank you NHS stickers on ready to be posted to staffanniversary of the NHS with Big Tea parties across the county. Over £2750 was raised in total by everyone that got involved with the celebrations!

At the time of the NHS Big Tea in 2021 the NHS remained under tight restrictions on gatherings, mask wearing, and shared food. This was quite a challenge for staff members hosting a fundraising tea party. However our staff clearly love a challenge as they thought of creative ways of safely celebrating the anniversary of the NHS. The Learning Disability Service hosted a virtual event for their team members where hot drinks and packs of biscuits were posted to staff to enjoy during an online tea party hosted on Microsoft Teams. Discovery House hosted a tea party, quiz and raffle which was enjoyed by their staff and service users.

The charity exists to enhance and improve patient experience by providing things like additional equipment, extra training or by improving the surroundings for service users and staff.
